April 2025. And the evolutionary spiral turns. Back to the dark ages.

Neptune is in Aries, soon to be joined by Saturn, at the end of May. Pluto is solidly in Aquarius. An observation: For many decades Neptune and Pluto have been traveling in a sextile relationship (60° apart). Since before I was born, in 1954. It is in everyone’s chart. This is a positive generational aspect, rather than personal. It can bring to some people spiritual change, growth, wisdom and evolution, especially if the Sun or Moon are involved in their charts. Many people don’t even notice. The changes may be entirely below the surface, or opportunities are present that go untouched.

Oops! I did this lovely painting of the planets and I left out Saturn. Neptune is the big green one next to the Sun. Saturn should be right next to it. Sorry about that. Then l to r, Mercury, Venus, crescent Moon and Pluto. Below are Mars, Jupiter and Uranus.

Anyway, back to the subject at hand. This month’s article is a reality check that may seem dark but my ultimate aim is increased awareness for the greater good. As a young person growing up in the 60s I was idealistic. A dreamer. Most of us were. We were the Woodstock nation. Everyone my age has Neptune in Libra. I thought our future world would be peaceful and harmonious. We would love one another. Spiritual evolution was happening. How naïve we were. Now that I’m old and have seen plenty, the picture has changed in a way I didn’t expect.

There is an ill wind blowing in this country. For starters, black shirted armed men (ICE), reminiscent of Nazis, are arresting and deporting immigrants. I can understand getting the criminals out but many innocents are being scooped up in the process. The underpinnings of the government are being pulled out. The departments of education and library sciences have been shut down. Books have been banned and important parts of history have been cut because they are racist or unacceptable. To Kill a Mockingbird. Come on! If education and information are systematically cut off, prejudice and ignorance will prevail. A return to the dark ages, I’m telling you.

The person who shall remain nameless is not my president. He is narcissistic, mean spirited and deranged. The number of executive decisions and arbitrary actions by him and the oligarch administration is staggering. Stocks are dropping. Food prices are going up and those tariffs are going to be a killer. He doesn’t care. Recession is imminent. And no one of any power or influence outside of the oligarch administration says or does anything to stop it. Congress remains shockingly silent. They are cowards. Critical mass is coming. Pluto.

That’s about it for my rant. It is probably too long but I cut as much as I could while still trying to make my point. In this life I have experienced revelation and been to the mountain top. But lately I have gone backward and am nowhere near that mountain top. I’m angry and bitter. Afraid for my country. Pluto in Aquarius is near my ascendant and square to my Saturn. I didn’t realize how difficult it would be. It must be the cyclical nature of life. Up, down, up, down, and with each swoop upward, one rises a little higher. I hope.

Resist any way that you can. Edgar Cayce once said, if you want to effect change, start where you are. Here at home, in your own back yard. Tighten your belts. Make your own moonshine. Support small businesses. Do a small kindness for someone. Don’t watch the news, it will just make you mad. Consider carefully how you can augment your children’s education and upbringing. Hold on to your books from the 60s, the classics, they may become hard to find. Share them with your children. Harper Lee, Alice Walker, Ray Bradbury, George Orwell. Knowledge is power. Make sure your children learn how to treat people nicely. Teach them integrity, honesty and kindness to all races and colors, and to respect all lifestyles. Spiritual evolution is still possible, a little here and a little there. Baby steps.

Celestial Almanac: Aries New Moon March 29 (partial solar eclipse: in tradition, a head of state may fall from power!), Libra Full Moon April 13, Taurus New Moon April 27.

AriesMercury and Venus will turn direct. Mercury arrives here April 16 and briefly joins Neptune. You could be spiritually or creatively inspired. You could experience heightened intuition or have prophetic dreams. Write things down. The answers to old questions may come to you at last. Secrets may be revealed and bodies rise to the surface. While Mars is still in Cancer, activities at home still prevail, and when he moves into Leo April 18, social life picks up.

TaurusOn April 19 the Sun arrives here and you will be the center of attention. Overall this is a favorable time for you but watch out for the squares from Mars and Pluto for a couple of days.  Around April 26, Mars in Leo will exactly oppose Pluto affecting home life as well as your career. Confrontations, accidents or violence are possible depending on your circumstances. Just pay attention. What happens at work may not necessarily affect you, not yet.

GeminiWhile Mercury and Venus are still in Pisces, communications and creativity are prominent in your career. Especially Venus the whole month. Publishing and the arts are favored. Both planets station and turn direct. You can now schedule meetings and sign contracts. Move forward with new plans and projects. Women may help you in your career. Depending on the situation, you may fall in love with someone at work, a client or colleague.

CancerMars has been here long enough. While he is still here try to finish up projects. Take care of important chores before it gets too late. This sign tends to procrastinate, I ought to know. While Venus is still in Pisces all month, and direct, travel is favored. Creative inspiration and the arts. Go to museums, and take trips to the country. Experience nature. Draw, paint and take photographs. You might meet someone very special while you are on a trip.

LeoMars arrives on April 18. This is a much more congenial place for Mars, and a positive, high energy cycle for you. The fires are lit and you can accomplish a great deal. Find some hard work to do and jump right in. You are more outspoken and might even get into a conflict but you can work it out. Don’t be afraid to speak your mind. Use this energy to create, not destroy. Mars will be opposite Pluto for a few days so watch out. Someone may try to manipulate you or push your buttons. Hang tough.

VirgoMercury and Venus have been retrograding in your marriage house. This may have been an interesting period. They both station and move direct, but note that Venus stations for the whole month in Pisces. This is very good for love and affection in a current relationship, and if you are single someone new and important may enter your life. This could be true love, the love of your life. Jupiter is direct in Gemini, your career house, which can bring luck or opportunity.

LibraMars is winding up his stay in your career house. Things should calm down at the end of the month. When Mars enters Leo, there are more activities with friends and groups. Jupiter in your travel house brings a chance to travel. A vacation or a cruise. This is a great place for Jupiter. Expand your world. You meet interesting people, visit historic places and possibly go back to school. Inspiration, higher learning, new fields of study and great opportunity.

ScorpioTravel is favored again this month but as soon as Mars enters Leo on April 18, your career goes into high gear. This transit is excellent for movement and change. Onward and upward. Apply for a better position. Develop professional connections. There may be a road block or conflict when Mars is opposite Pluto later in the month, for just a few days, but you can deal with it. Patience and diplomacy. Venus stationing in Pisces favors romance.

SagittariusBecause of Venus a happy home life, marriage, family and romance are favored. You may find new romance in your own back yard, at a family reunion or from the distant past. You never know. Venus is exalted here. Jupiter in Gemini, your relationship house accents this even more and brings more of the same. Beneficial for a fortunate marriage. Mars moves into Leo which favors travel. You have a strong desire to take a trip, so make plans and go.

CapricornMars moves out of your marriage house, thank goodness, so things at home should calm down. Mercury direct, moving into Aries, favors communications at home. Good, in case you are closing on a house. Watch the Full Moon in Libra on April 13 when a project comes to completion or a wish comes true. On the New Moon in Taurus, April 27, new friends, social activities and possibly a new romance are possible.

AquariusMars enters Leo this month, April 18, your marriage and relationships house. Sparks will fly. You might get into an argument but it is probably about something that needs to be dealt with sooner or later. Get it out on the table and clear the air. The kissing and making up will be nice. Or a new relationship will really heat up. It can be an exciting period. When Mars is opposite Pluto for a few days after April 18 things might get a little hairy but it is a short transit so don’t worry.

PiscesVenus stations and turns direct here for the whole month. Venus is exalted here. As a matter of fact, the station occurring here could bring a special new love affair into your life. A higher love. Love will grow. Friendships bring happy times. Creative writing, expressions of love, painting, photography and the arts. Inspiration comes easily to you. Take day trips to the country and experience nature. This is a happy and blissful period. Do nice things for yourself.
