The four outer planets are retrograde this month, dragging their feet. Whatever your circumstances are, they will probably stay the same. No changes, no progress, or very little, unless Mars activates something. Three of the four will move back into previous signs in the next two months. There is a possible repeat of an experience you had last year. A do-over in case you didn’t learn something the first time. Maybe nothing will happen at all. If you are lucky, things are going well enough. Try to keep a broader perspective on things.
Pluto is the only retrograde planet not changing signs. He has been stationing the last three months, and here to stay in Aquarius. Transformation is still happening, subconsciously, almost like what happens in the chrysalis of a butterfly. At the Autumn Equinox Mars in Scorpio will square Pluto and something could happen. For some people. Power plays, confrontations, violence, upheaval and permanent change. (Trump has been awfully brutal lately. He might finally go too far.) Saturn Rx goes into Pisces September 1, followed by Neptune Rx in late October. Meanwhile, all of the other planets are changing signs this month except Jupiter, which is cruising comfortably in Cancer. Water sign people are probably having an easy time of it.
There are two eclipses (they usually come in twos). First, a partial lunar eclipse September 7, visible in most of the world, during the night. We will be able to see this one, on the East coast. Then on September 21, an annular solar eclipse when the shadow of the Moon leaves a ring-like appearance around the sun (popularly known as the ring of fire). This one will be visible (with solar glasses of course) in parts of the southern US, Mexico and Central America. As you know, eclipses bring the closing of a cycle, the ending of an experience, and traditionally, the death of important figures in your life or the world spotlight, politics or government.
The Autumn Equinox is September 22. The wheel of the year is turning. The light is changing. I can see Arcturus again after sunset through my bedroom window. The season of cool nights, colorful leaves, pumpkins and spices in the air is here. I’m really a summer person but I like fall, too. There is something mystical in the air besides the smells. Now is the time to find the balance. Look back over the year and take stock of the harvest, what you experienced this year.
Celestial Almanac: Pisces Full Moon September 7, Virgo New Moon September 21. The Autumn Equinox on September 22. Note the eclipses, especially September 7, when it will be visible on the East coast.
When the Sun moves into Libra, the spotlight shines on your marriage or other partnerships. It is usually a positive time. It is a good time to get engaged or have a wedding. Romance and business enterprises are favored. The Autumn Equinox favors the cardinal signs. You are turning a corner in some way. A cycle begins or goes to the next level. Venus in Leo until September 19 is great for social life, romance, creativity, sports and children’s activities.
When Mars arrives in Scorpio on September 22 there is more excitement in marriage and personal relationships. There are conflicts, disagreements, or conversely, romantic excitement. A partner may be intense and controlling, especially with the square to Pluto. Either you or your partner will have to pull back and be more considerate. I’m sure everything will be fine. Business will be affected as well. There might be a corporate take-over or challenges from higher-ups.
The planets in Virgo at various times will influence life at home, in a good way. Venus here on September 19 will be good for decorating, buying furniture and art, and having friends or relatives in for a get-together. Mercury helps communications. While Mars is still in Libra, until September 22, you have lots of social events, fun and games. Romance, sports and children’s activities. Mars is in a positive energy cycle. You are healthy, fit, and you get a lot of work done.
With Jupiter here, life is good. Your mood should be positive and optimistic. Enjoy the pleasures of life and be generous to others. What goes around comes around. Keep your eyes open for opportunities. Something’s coming. When Mars enters Scorpio on September 22 it will be a positive energy cycle. You will be more active in general. Go out more. Romance, sports and social events are coming up. You meet new people. Spend time with the grandchildren.
Not much is going on here and things are quiet. But Venus is here until September 19 so you should do nice things for yourself. Find time to relax. Get a good haircut, have a makeover or spend a day at the spa. Enjoy the Jacuzzi. Buy new clothes or furniture. You’ll find great bargains now. Creativity blossoms and you can do some nice painting or drawing. You are more loving and affectionate, and more attractive to others. Romance may be just around the corner.
While the Sun is still here you are the center of attention. Take advantage of it. Plan presentations and interviews. Promotions will pay off. When Venus catches up later in the month things will be even better. Friendships, romance, creativity and finances are favored. You are more warm and fuzzy with everyone. Any problems or misunderstandings can be settled amicably now. Volunteering and service projects will bring happiness and satisfaction.
Read about Aries. The Autumn Equinox is important for the cardinal signs. With the Sun here you are in the spotlight and can make the most of it. Opportunities, changes and new directions are coming. It is a positive time for you especially with Mars here the first two weeks. Finish up projects, do raking and yard work, and decorate for Halloween. Watch the New Moon on September 21. Make a wish. It’s close to the cusp, a solar eclipse. Someone may be leaving.
Around the time of the Equinox, Mars arrives here. As the ruler of this sign (along with Pluto) he is at home, and he is the boss. You will feel a big energy change, and you will feel empowered. If there is something you want to accomplish, you can do it. It is a wonderful gift but be careful not to walk all over people. It can turn you into a bully. The important thing is, if you have felt blocked or too timid, this Mars energy will give you the confidence you need. As a passive Cancer person, I welcome this transit.
Your ruling planet Jupiter in Cancer can help you make changes in finances. New investments may come through a partner. You may inherit money or property, or settle a will. When Jupiter was transiting my 8th house I inherited money from my father. Venus in Leo favors higher education and travel both for business or pleasure. It might be a good time to go back to school for art, art history or design. There is a chance to visit Europe or other exotic places.
The Autumn Equinox concerns your career. You are turning a corner. It may be no big deal. You will have your annual job review. Or maybe you are changing your tack. You may relocate or apply someplace else. You could retire. If you are experienced and well respected in your field, and gone as far you can go, you may switch to consulting. While Mars has been in Libra, you have been working hard. Time to take a break and relax a little.
With Mars in Libra you still have a chance to travel. Go for it. Also take some college courses. When Mars enters Scorpio you will have work to do. You will be motivated. Venus in Leo until September 19 is very nice for marriage and all one-to-one relationships, including business. You may enter into an amicable and lucrative partnership. Rekindle the spark at home, spend some special time with your honey. Go to the shore or a B&B for the weekend.
Jupiter relaxing in Cancer is very good for your social life. Children’s activities have great appeal, and there may be new babies in your family or inner circle. Parties, barbecues, ball games and trips to the beach. You might put on a little weight so get up and go hiking or something. The Sun in Virgo focuses on marriage and friendships. Mars enters Scorpio at the Equinox. This will give you the urge to travel. It will be a good time to plan a vacation.
