This month I want to comment on a beautiful manifestation of Jupiter in Capricorn and the Full Moon. On January 10 (Full Moon in Cancer) a young man close to me, a Taurus, officially sealed the deal to buy a small business franchise, after many months of red tape, networking, applying for the loan and getting his ducks in a row. Waiting for all the parties involved to get their act together. Years of hard work and hoping for his dream to come true finally bore fruit. Jupiter is transiting his Capricorn midheaven (he has Aries rising), trine to his natal Jupiter and Mars in Virgo and the Saturn Pluto conjunction is trine his natal Sun.
As I told you, the Saturn Pluto conjunction was exact on January 13-15, joined by the Sun in 22° Capricorn, which could be very interesting. And I told you, watch the Full Moon in Cancer on January 10. Climax, giving birth (literally and figuratively), the conclusion of a journey and completion of a great work. Something big did happen! I love a happy ending, although this is really the beginning of a new chapter. Isn’t astrology amazing?
What’s happening in the real world, right in front of you, is what matters, not the promises of the planets in the chart. That’s why I say I’m not a crystal ball. (My standard disclaimer.) God gave you free will. You make the choices. Often one transit manifests in your life while the others come and go with no fanfare. If you are hoping for a romance or a better job, the time may not be right yet. The planets have to align in the chart of your future partner, for example. Your soul may have other plans for you at present. Have faith. Work with what you have in front of you.
On another important note, Mars enters Capricorn this month and he is exalted here. The Mars energies are best expressed here. I’ve written a lot about Mars but a review is always a good thing. Having Mars in this sign, I welcome this transit, my Mars return (to his natal place). The Mars return happens about every two years. The effects last about 1-3 weeks. Mars makes things happen. If you have the Sun or Mars in Capricorn this will be a favorable, high energy period for you. A big project that demands concentrated efforts will go well. Plan on getting a lot of work done. This is a good time for construction, starting a business, elective surgery, childbirth or starting a new exercise regimen. Example: Once I moved during this transit, downsizing to a townhouse. I had to work hard without a break, cleaning and packing, and I also lost some weight, 6 lbs., which was an extra added benefit. Come to think of it, some years later I had a short, seasonal (Christmas) job at Macy’s during which I lost 20 lbs. The Mars return was happening during that period as well.

This Month’s Horoscope
Venus, still the lovely evening star, arrives in your sign on February 7. The attraction quotient goes up. You look beautiful in the mirror and suitors are knocking at the door. You will be invited out more. In fact, you are hot to trot. If you need a loan or a favor, now is the time to ask. Combined with the activity in Capricorn, your career is progressing. There will be interviews, job offers or changes in company management, especially when Mars enters Capricorn February 16. Cozy up to the powers that be and strike while the iron is hot.
Because of Jupiter, Mars and the other Capricorn planets, your projects will proceed nicely as planned and you can get a lot of work done. You are on a roll. Mars is in a positive high energy cycle. Your health is good at this time. Landscaping, crafts, building or other construction are favored. Finances are favored, such as investments or inheritance. Because of Mars and Jupiter, there will also be opportunities to travel in the coming months. Adventure is out there!
While Mars is still in Sagittarius the first half of the month, continue to focus on your relationships. Work out your differences, work on common goals, find happiness with your spouse. This applies to business partnerships as well. With Jupiter in Capricorn, and Mars after February 16, there may be inheritance or the settlement of a will from parents or older relatives. Property and investments are involved. With Venus in Aries, there will be good times with friends, clubs or group associations.
When Mars moves into Capricorn February 16 there will be four planets to influence partnerships and one-on-one relationships. If you are married, of course you must work on present concerns. If single, then business partnerships or projects. You may also meet an important new partner at this time, older and more experienced in life. It could be very physical and passionate, on account of Mars. Or, there could be quarrels or confrontations. Work on it and learn from it. Don’t be afraid. It will be a positive time.
Venus in Aries favors travel. You may plan a trip to an exotic locale, or be invited by a friend. Love may be waiting when you get there. You can meet new people, relax and enjoy yourself. Art, architecture, history, and beautiful scenic views. Examples: Versailles, Tuscany, Hawaii or the Caribbean. If you aren’t traveling, paint, draw, study art at home or visit a museum. Because of the planets in Capricorn, especially Mars, there will be much activity and excitement in the work place.
Mercury arrives in your marriage house on February 3 and retrogrades on February 17. You know what to do. If there is confusion or communication problems with your partner, or in business, be patient and work things out. Go with the flow. Wait on making plans or signing papers until after March 10. Unusual solutions present themselves. Something you lost may turn up. With Mars in Capricorn, your social life heats up. Lots going on in this area of your life, possibly with children’s activities or a new romance.
Mars in Capricorn stirs things up at home, especially combined with Jupiter. There are big changes. Either you are pushing for it or someone else is. You may have a job change and be transferred. You are either moving out, buying a bigger house or renovating. Even if nothing that big is happening, you are spending more time at home, working hard, fixing things up or buying new appliances. There is stuff happening in your family. Venus in Aries favors all relationships. Go on a romantic date with your special someone.
With the Leo Full Moon on February 9, something may reach a conclusion in your career. There may be some excitement at work. You may get a promotion or a break you’ve been angling for. The New Moon on February 23 promises a possible new relationship or a burst of creativity. Now is a good time to start a family, if that is part of your plan. Fertility is favored. Because of the Capricorn planets, there is a focus on education, communications and travel. This is a good time to buy a car or a computer. It is a generally positive period.
Venus entering Aries on February 7 will bring happy times. Sports, social events and children’s activities are favored. Birthday parties, for example. Single Sag folks may meet new partners. You are more outgoing, affectionate and attractive to the opposite sex at this time. Romance is favored. Also, you are very creative with this Venus transit. The Leo Full Moon on February 9 might bring a chance to travel, or news from abroad. With Mercury Rx later in the month, mysteries may be solved. You find something in the house you had lost. Do research and learn about your ancestors.
As if the last few months haven’t been busy enough, Mars is here to give you another jumpstart. You are feeling your oats. You are ambitious, empowered and confident. Take care of your health and get plenty of rest. This is a positive transit but you can overdo it so pace yourself. Read what I wrote above. This is a high energy cycle, and even more so when Mars joins with Jupiter in March. Mars is the activator and Jupiter expands. You have the strength to make a change if that’s what you want. You could accomplish great things. Make a plan, envision a goal and it will happen.
The Sun in your sign puts you in the spotlight. Generally, it is a positive, fortunate time for you. With Mercury Rx, you should devote some time to sorting out your finances. Organize your tax papers, check savings balances and probably avoid making any large purchases until after March 10. You may find something valuable that you had lost, such as jewelry. Because of the activity in Capricorn you can study spiritual subjects or go within. The idea of going to the mountain top comes to mind. You may meet older, wiser people who will guide you.
With Venus in Aries you may buy something beautiful and frivolous. Well, you should treat yourself once in a while. Mercury goes retrograde in Pisces on February 17, until about March 10. You know this is not a bad thing, just a different energy. Write, do research, make plans but don’t act or make important decisions yet. Don’t sign papers. Consider things from a different point of view. Stay behind the scenes for the time being. Communications with others may be confusing. While traveling you may get lost or take a detour. Secrets may be revealed.
