I was visiting with an old friend recently. 
One thing we concurred on was how we think we know the right way to think and act, and we expect everyone else to see things the same way. They never do. My friend said it first, when she was talking about her husband. “Why doesn’t he get it?” I said, I’ve been there. I once had a similar observation of my husband. I remember hoping that what I was learning might rub off on him but it never did. My friend and I are pretty much on the same page. Women tend to progress and evolve faster than men do. We wonder why the men are lagging behind but they are following a different path. Remember that we married them for better or worse. You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make them drink.
We occasionally get to a point in life where we have evolved. We may think we have the keys to the kingdom, or at least we know how to treat people right. We think we know the best way to live and assume everyone else should behave the same way. It should be obvious. But this is not the case. The view in front of you is not what everyone else sees. I’ve been reminded many times that people are not perfect. They will disappoint you. This frequent kick in the ass is a disclaimer for enlightenment. It keeps us humble. In the coming year we should try to accept people for their shortcomings, which are many. Keep kindness, patience, forbearance and the fruits of the spirit. This includes yourself. Be kind to yourself as well.

At New Year’s, Mars will move into the orb of a square with Jupiter and Uranus. (Read about both Taurus and Aquarius.) On January 6, Mars will enter Taurus and conjunct Uranus. So, for a few weeks we will have Mars and Uranus square Jupiter and Saturn in fixed signs. Mars stirs things up and makes things happen. This combination can bring an assortment of challenges and changes, depending on your situation. But in the real world, the limitations of Covid19 are still with us (Saturn). Even if the planets suggest movement in your career or a new relationship, the circumstances are that you are stuck at home and don’t meet new people. Jupiter brings expansion and a break for freedom, especially when Uranus is involved and Saturn puts a block on it. We are all affected in this way.

Read on for the January forecast. Have a happy and healthy new year, stay at home and stay healthy. Hopefully the new year will be much better than this one!
Mars is leaving after six months in Aries. Hopefully everyone has gotten past the pandemic, had their fill of squabbles at home, tantrums, multi-tasking, getting into shape, broken bones and other Aries-type things. Just being sarcastic here. It has been a crazy time for Aries people. Now you are running out of steam. You will feel a change in the energies, mostly of a calming sort. I should say so. You should slow down for a while and take a break. Hopefully the square between Mars, Uranus, Jupiter and Saturn won’t make this impossible for you.
Mars arrives on January 6 and even though Taurus is a steady, grounded sign you will still get a jumpstart of some kind. By the middle of January Mars will be conjunct Uranus, which by itself is very exciting. This brings impulsive behavior, sudden changes of direction, surprises, new ideas or a stroke of genius. Expect the unexpected. Add to this the square to Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius, which will have something to do with the direction you are going. A square means a change of direction or the turning of a corner. There is a combination of opportunity, responsibility, delay or obstacle. On a positive note, Venus in Capricorn favors romance and travel.
Things will be more interesting mid-month as the Sun and Mercury move into Aquarius, joining Jupiter and Saturn. You may travel more at this time, if the way opens, and have contacts and business interests far away. You should also explore new fields or go back to school during the coming months. Learn a new language. The Sun will put a strong focus on these things when it arrives here on January 19-20. When Mercury stations Rx around January 30, clean closets, go through files, gather information or do research. You know the drill.
Watch the Capricorn New Moon on January 13. With Venus here, marriage, romance, meeting new partners, weddings and engagements are favored. The start of a new relationship of any kind is likely so keep the door open for meetings and social activities, if at all possible. There are opportunities here. This applies to business and creative ventures as well. You could be inspired. Paint, draw, write and develop new concepts. You may want to commune with other artists, share ideas or visit galleries.
Mars and Uranus square Jupiter and Saturn will affect your relationships and career matters. In marriage there may be changes. Some couples may split up, or go to counseling. If there is a split, it is probably meant to happen. You might be growing in different directions. But don’t worry. This will all blow over. You may learn something. Some couples will see changes in the household, such as different work schedules, for example. This is where your career figures into it, such as if one partner gets laid off or finds a new job.
When Mars moves into Taurus and joins Uranus, you may have the urge to travel. It will be on your mind. Perhaps you will have a surprise opportunity to go on a trip. It may be an exciting vacation or there may be problems such as a delay or detour. Or maybe a trip you had planned won’t happen at all. Roll with the punches and don’t worry. Mars in Taurus is a good energy for Virgos. When Mercury stations Rx at the end of the month, you may want to re-organize your office space, take inventory or order supplies.
Mars and Uranus square Jupiter and Saturn will impact your finances to some extent. There may be a windfall, an inheritance or a will to be filed, and in rare cases, because of Mars, a family squabble over it. Because of Saturn and the pandemic, social activities are limited, as are opportunities to meet new lovers. Children’s activities may demand your attention, in terms of work and responsibility. Babies may be born now. I’m sure there is a baby boom coming because of the isolation of the pandemic, and I’ve already heard a few rumblings about it.
Mars and Uranus will impact your relationships for the next few weeks. With Mars being what he is, sparks will fly. As I’ve often said, sometimes you just have to clear the air, get it all out there and deal with it. Then the kissing and making up part will be exciting. Read about Leo. If there is a parting of the ways, it may have been long overdue. There are bound to be changes at home over the next several months. Some are gradual but some are unexpected and hit you from behind. With Mercury Rx coming, clean the attic, go over records and personal papers.
While Venus is still here, until January 8, do some shopping and have your hair done. Mars and Uranus square Jupiter and Saturn will have some effects on neighborhood activities, travel and circumstances at work. You are making plans for the future but take your time. Look at all the possibilities and limitations. When Mercury stations, use this energy well. Do research, go over your finances, get all your ducks in a row, and don’t sign any papers until late February.
The Sun here puts you in the spotlight. For the next few weeks, enjoy the attention. Career, work and relationships with management are favored. Whatever project you are working on will progress. If your annual review is coming up it will be positive. Venus is here from the 8th on and this is favorable for friendship, romance, money and creativity. Mars and Uranus may bring some excitement in your social life. A new romance or a new baby may be just around the corner for some of you.

Everyone may have a crazy time, or maybe nothing will happen, if you are stuck at home by yourself, except some degree of boredom and frustration. When Mars moves out of the square, beginning of March, things will calm down. But there will still be gradual changes or developments. Controlled expansion and controlled progress. If something unexpected happens, be prepared. You can be sure there is a reason for it. Mercury stations Rx here around the 30th so plan accordingly.
Nothing earth shattering is going on for Pisces right now. Sit loose in the saddle of fate. Stay inside, relax, read and knit. Jupiter and Saturn may impact your inner life. You may experience changes in your spiritual beliefs. Meditate and write about your dreams. You may volunteer as a caregiver or look after someone close to you who is ill. You may have an opportunity for personal growth. Keep your eyes open. When Mercury stations, you know what to do. Clean closets, go exploring in the attic and don’t sign any papers yet.
