As I was getting ready to post, the world learned that the beloved Tv icon Betty White passed away on New Year’s Eve, just 17 days shy of her 100th birthday. A Capricorn, she was many things to many people and had a wonderful life. She had a long string of successful Tv shows and numerous film appearances. She was a popular talk show guest. Having a Virgo Moon, she loved animals and supported animal rights. Capricorns are known for being serious, reserved and down to earth. But she was loveable and funny, with a brilliant, sharp wit. Turns out she had Leo rising, so there you go. Capricorns are also known for longevity, so it figures that she lived this long, in good health and sharp as a tack right up to the end. Venus stationed Rx in 26 Capricorn on December 19 until January 29. If there is a wedding in your future, put it off until after Venus stations at the end of January. Some of you may take a hiatus from dating or socializing. Don’t get your hair cut, have beauty treatments or plastic surgery. It might not turn out the way you want. Other Venus things may be affected, like art and fashion. You may have a creative block. I was thinking this wouldn’t be a good time to go shopping or find good sales, but I recently got a great deal on a beautiful winter coat on sale at Macy’s. Go figure. Venus stations in conjunction with Pluto at the beginning of January, which adds an element of intensity for a few days. Some people will experience deep emotional involvement, control issues or frustration in relationships. Be patient. This too shall pass.
Mars enters Capricorn on January 24, which is the best place (exalted) for Mars to be. Then Venus stations on January 29 in conjunction with Mars. They travel together through Capricorn and Aquarius until early April. There may be romance, success in business, financial gains or some kind of creative expression, when the love planets are moving together. This transit is especially good for Capricorn people, but also Taurus, Cancer, Leo, Virgo and Aquarius.
Looking ahead, the love planets cross Saturn in Aquarius during the last week of March. There could be learning experiences, delays or separations in relationships for some people. It could be a stressful time. It could also be a test of loyalty and unconditional love. A new relationship could involve a much older partner, who would be a teacher or guide. Business, building construction, real estate, government and finance may be helped by this transit.
Jupiter has arrived in Pisces until May, with a period in Aries and then Rx into Pisces at Halloween. Jupiter co-rules this sign along with Neptune which is still here as well. The exact conjunction is in April. It could be a very romantic spring for some of you. Spiritual and creative inspiration are increased this year. Something inside will begin to blossom. Optimism, kindness, generosity and good feelings towards others. Jupiter expands all things ruled by Pisces. There could be increased self-indulgence, use of drugs and alcohol (escapism) as well as religious inspiration. The key is moderation in all things, as my dad used to say. There is serendipity and good luck from out of nowhere. This transit is very good for the water signs.
Last but not least, Mercury stations Rx in Aquarius on January 14 until February 4 and you know what that means. Stop what you’re doing, review, clean closets, throw out old files and stay below the radar for a few weeks. Don’t worry if you are running late, have to take a detour or miss an appointment.
