The Summer Solstice is coming up on June 21, my favorite time of the year. A new cycle begins. As you know, rituals, divinations and other occult activities have more power at the solstice. The best time is at noon when the sun is highest in the sky. Light candles and meditate. Walk in a garden labyrinth, which is a kind of meditation. Get out your Tarot cards. Visualize the future the way you want it. I usually start early to celebrate my birthday which comes right after the Summer Solstice. Every year is different, but I usually look forward to a sense of renewal.
Here is a recap of Saturn as promised. Saturn is a planet of boundaries and structure, and transiting the mutable water sign of Pisces, it may be hard to define boundaries where they are necessary. You may want to get organized, but something prevents this. Reality and illusion may become confused. Some things need to be dissolved or dissipated in order for the next chapter to begin. But this is okay. Keep an open mind and go with the flow. People who are wound up too tight could benefit from this transit. You may need to relax and loosen up. Have a little faith. Everything works out for the best. Some people are drawn to a more religious, spiritual, ascetic or contemplative life now. You might want to be alone for a while and figure out some things.
Saturn is what keeps us in line from one day to the next. Even if we are distracted and resist sticking to the plan, in the end we all chop wood and carry water. Venus arrives in Leo on June 5, and joins Mars. The love planets are officially in conjunction in Leo from June 6 until mid-July, when Venus stations Rx, then stations direct on Labor Day, in 12 Leo. Watch this period. According to astrologer Carol Rushman, a love affair is more likely to begin when Venus stations (standing still) direct, especially if other transits and progressions are happening at the same time in your chart. An old flame returns. A potential lover is likely to walk into your life. So dress up nice, get out into the world, be a joiner and pay attention! A look at the life of a beloved rock icon, who has recently departed. Martha Nell (Anna Mae) Bullock was born Nov. 26, 1939, 10:10pm, Nutbush, Haywood County, TN. Tina Turner died on her Uranus return, age 83, on May 24. Sagittarius folks often travel a lot or move to a foreign country. She toured in many countries, after her split from Ike Turner, owned property in Europe and moved permanently to Switzerland in 1994. Her second husband was a foreigner. She had a fascinating and complex chart. Leo rising, a Grand Trine in fire, two T-squares, one which involved the Sun, Mercury, Mars and the Moon. This T-square and the Saturn Pluto square manifested in her horrific relationship with Ike Turner. Pluto was in the 12th house. Heavy karma. The Grand Trine also involved Pluto, and the Sun, Mercury and Jupiter. This brought her luck and help from above, pushed her to survive, overcome and reach huge pinnacles of success.
