The Autumn Equinox on September 22 is an important cycle change. (The equinoxes and the solstices indicate cycle changes throughout the year.) When the Covid-19 pandemic shifted into high gear around the middle of March, causing widespread panic, the Spring Equinox came on March 20. There was a change of direction to say the least. Now, six months later, there is another change of direction. Traditionally it should be a time of harvest. I’d like to think we will move away from this “wrinkle in time” and life will get back to normal. But I think normal as we know it may be gone with the wind. We’ve been warned it may get worse, instead of better, with another spike in Covid-19 cases and a struggling economy. So, on September 22, I can’t make any promises one way or the other. But it will be a day to watch. Take stock and evaluate what you learned this year. What did you gain, what did you lose, and was it worth it?
As the days grow shorter, we should try to come up with new indoor activities, in case we are still house-bound with the quarantine. We have our smartphones, tablets, Kindle, virtual classes and laptop communications but we can work on growing closer to our families. If you live alone, read, meditate, do yoga and keep a journal. Being alone does have its possibilities. You have to live with and love yourself first before you can live with and love someone else. I read that somewhere! If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Inside the house, think outside the box.
As I’ve been warning you in advance, Mars stations retrograde this month on September 9. I’ve already noticed some retro things during August since Mars is slowing down, like people turning up from my past, for example. An old boyfriend on Facebook. Other people who passed away a while ago and I only just heard about it. Projects in my home that I had put off, cleaning or fixing up. Stuff like that. Nothing serious, though, and I think my general positive outlook has been helpful. I always tell myself, when a situation looms ahead of me, wait until it all plays out. I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it, and everything will turn out just fine. And it does.
Stationing Jupiter helps me out, too, incidentally. Jupiter goes direct on about September 13. It may not be felt by everyone but it means that many things will become unstuck. Projects, plans and situations go into forward motion once again. The picture becomes clearer and brighter. There is a new dawn, so to speak. Expansion and greener pastures are favored.
These two major planets, one going backward and one going forward have something in common. The simple fact that they are standing still intensifies their energies, especially if they are conjunct or making aspects to personal planets. It’s like a laser beam turned up high. Mars Rx will do one thing and Jupiter will do another. Take a step back and judge your life accordingly. Remember that retrograde energy is not difficult it is just different. When either Mars or Jupiter are retrograde, you just go along with it and make good use of it, even if it means sit back and wait.
On September 29 Saturn will station going forward, bringing another subtle shift. You may suddenly realize an important lesson, or that you have just grown up a little bit.
Finally, a little tidbit for the fire signs: Mars Rx in Aries will trine Venus in Leo on September 25-30. Those days may be special for you. Romance, friendships, fun, creativity and the arts are favored.
Celestial Almanac: Pisces Full Moon September 2-3, Virgo New Moon September 17.
Read on for the September forecast. Enjoy the rest of your summer and for the greater good, wear a mask and keep your social distance.
Mars will station Rx at 29 Aries on September 9 until November 13 then station direct at 16 Aries. Activities will slow down or go into reverse and have to be re-thought or re-worked. Old issues may come up as well as relationships from the past. For some people buried anger comes to the surface. Deal with it now. Whatever you start during the Rx you may have trouble finishing. Put some projects on hold. Remember, Mars is also square to the Capricorn planets. On a cheerier note, when Venus arrives in Leo, romance and children’s activities are favored. Good times.
While the Sun is still in Virgo, romance, children’s activities, sports and social events are favored. Uranus Rx in your sign may not bring any excitement but if something unexpected happens, it’s Uranus telling you, hey, wake up. You’re not supposed to see it coming. It’s the impact that matters. There is some underlying reason for it. It all depends on your situation. If you have been slacking off or a change in circumstances is needed, Uranus will certainly let you know. Watch the Virgo New Moon on September 17. Make a wish. Make a fresh start.
Home life is favored the first half of the month. Do gardening projects or rearrange the furniture. It’s a good time for downsizing or moving into a new residence if that is part of your plan. When the Sun is in Libra (Autumn Equinox), romance, sports, children and social activities are favored. If football and soccer games are not on the agenda, visit a park or go hiking. Arrange a Zoom meeting with your friends, children or grandchildren. Work around the situation and try something different.
Venus is in a T-square with Mars and the Capricorn planets for the first few days. There may be disappointment or a misunderstanding but Venus is not a malefic planet. Perhaps something you were counting on won’t materialize and you’ll have to wait. Don’t be blue about it. It isn’t a difficult transit. It may come and go without you noticing. At the Equinox, the Sun in Libra puts your home life into focus. It’s a good time to have family over to visit, rake leaves, buy pumpkins or do fall fix-ups. Gather up things in the house you don’t need, to give to charity.
Venus arrives on September 6. Romance, creativity, the arts and social life are favored. Artists and performers are inspired at this time. Your work will be well received. You look great in the mirror. Go shopping. You will find some good bargains. You feel warm and fuzzy towards everyone. A new relationship may begin at this time, or an existing friendship will become more important to you. It will be a peaceful, relaxing period, if nothing else. Because Mars is retrograde, travel may be delayed but it is still a positive energy cycle for Leos.
While the Sun is still here, your affairs are humming along nicely and if you need money or a favor, just ask. With Mercury your ruling planet moving into Libra on September 5, all communications and financial activities are favored. After the 18th Mercury will be in a T-square for a few days with Mars and the Capricorn planets. You may have an issue with bank accounts, property, wills, inheritance or investments. This is not necessarily difficult. You just have to take care of some business. It’s a short transit. You may get a letter or phone call. No worries.
Read the article again. The condition of Mars continues to influence marriage and partnerships. Put that into proper context here. Hopefully you and your partner have worked out your differences. The Autumn Equinox usually favors your sign with good health and good luck. You are in the spotlight. If you are lucky to be employed, relationships with superiors are good. There may be a bonus or promotion. Legal matters and closing contracts are favored at this time. Generally, you are keeping a kind of balance and harmony in your life. Evaluate what is most important to you and don’t take anything for granted.
Stationing Mars will affect the work environment, office (if you are still going there every day), employees, colleagues and professional activities. Lots of Zoom meetings are on the schedule. If conflicts come up, be patient and work them out. Try to see both sides of issues. It’s a brand-new world. Nobody expected this to happen. The conference room is now in your den or dining room. Look at this as a growth experience. There are lots of unforeseen changes this year and it’s not over yet. There are changes in your neighborhood as well.
While the Sun is still in Virgo your career is highlighted. Your work earns praises and recognition even if you are working at home. You may be in charge of setting up Zoom meetings. When your ruling planet Jupiter stations on the 13th, this bodes well for your plans. You will notice a new energy and have a more optimistic view of the world. Stationing Mars will probably concentrate your attentions on your children or their activities, such as sports or recreation. When Venus arrives in Leo, travel, education, creativity and the arts are favored.
Whatever is going on at home may come to a head this month. Stationing Mars heats things up. There might be confrontations with other people. You may work hard on a building project. Be careful, you are accident-prone at this time. Travel, education and expanding your world are favored while the Sun is still in Virgo. An opportunity may fall in your lap, especially when Jupiter stations this month. The whole picture may look brighter for you, which is nice for Capricorn. You have endured much and been so patient all this time.
When Venus moves into Leo relationships of all kinds are favored. It’s good for marriages, business partnerships, BFFs, resolving conflicts amicably and starting a new romance. You may meet someone new and important this month or get together with an old flame. You attract friends, lovers, money and good luck in general. At the end of the month Mars Rx will be in a trine with Venus which makes things even better. Sparks will fly or it will at least be a pleasant, happy time. Creativity and the arts are also favored.
While the Sun is still in Virgo, marriage and partnerships are still the main focus. It should be a pleasant time. Mars Rx influences your finances, property and things of great personal value. This isn’t the best time to go shopping. You might even be a little careless or extravagant, or buy something you don’t need. Watch those impulse purchases. The Pisces Full Moon on September 2 and Virgo New Moon on September 17 may be important days for you. At the New Moon make a wish. A new romance may be coming just around the bend.
